Prirazlomnoye

The first oil field development project in the Arctic region at the European north of Russia, Prirazlomnoye has no immediate parallels worldwide. The platform stationed  in  harsh  Arctic  shelf conditions alone provides  for the  entire  oil production cycle from well drilling and primary crude oil processing, to storage and offloading to tankers.

Rubin has been involved in the design of the facility at all development stages.

During the initial period, several platform concepts were developed, different in their structure and in the way they would be fixed to the sea bottom.

It was Rubin who set up and took part in trials done in ice and wave tanks. Platform-seafloor and platform-vessel interactions were also studied.  This gave life to the technical solutions which provided the basis for the detailed facility design.

Extensive work was done preparing technical requirements to the equipment installed at the facility, selecting vendors, reviewing vendor proposals and preparing technical expertise reports for the Customer's tender committee.  Rubin acted as technical supervisor for the documents developed by subcontractors.  Our specialists were also involved in the acceptance of the most critical and sophisticated equipment.

The design was based on a 3D PDS model. During construction, Rubin provided maintenance engineering and field support. The facility was installed on site in August 2011.
