Sakhalin-1 is a phased project to develop oil and gas deposits north-west off the Sakhalin Island .

Rubin took part in the FEED stage for the Orlan offshore ice-resistant platform to develop the Chaivo hydrocarbon deposit. The platform was put into operation in 2005 and since that time has been operating in severe sub-Arctic conditions with high seismic activity and under tough ice loads.

Rubin took part in the detailed design of the Berkut offshore ice-resistant platform to develop the Arkutun-Dagi oil deposit. A detailed living quarters design was engineered under the contract with the Sakhneftegaz Engineering. The design is based on a 3D PDMS Model. The platform was put into operation in 2014.
