For outstanding contributions to the development of St. Petersburg industry and many years of dedicated service, Igor Vilnit, CEO Rubin Design Bureau of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, has been awarded the badge of honor "For Services to St. Petersburg." The corresponding decree was signed by St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov on January 29, 2026, and the award ceremony took place at Smolny on March 4, 2026.

Igor V.Vilnit has been working in shipbuilding for 47 years. He joined Rubin after graduating from the Leningrad Shipbuilding Institute. He rose through the ranks of design engineers, heading the Bureau's Hull Structure Department, serving as the Bureau's Chief Engineer, and since 2012 as Chief Executive Officer. With his participation and later under his leadership, submarines of the third and fourth generations, offshore platforms, the floating gates for St. Petersburg flood protection barrier were designed, and the design of unmanned underwater vehicles was launched.

Igor Vilnit, a Doctor of Engineering Sciences, is the author of over 70 scientific papers and 19 patents for inventions and utility models. He is a two-time laureate of the Russian Federation Government Prize in Science and Technology. His applied research works have been used in advanced marine engineering, in particular, the Borey and Borey-A SSBNs.
