By the resolution of the Board of Directors of Rubin Design Bureau, part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC), Vladimir Dorofeev was elected Director General of the company on June 30, 2026. At the same time, Vladimir Dorofeev remains the acting Director General of Malachite Design Bureau of USC.
Naval architect by education, Candidate of Engineering Science, Vladimir Dorofeev has been working in shipbuilding industry since 1991. In Malachite Design Bureau, his career has seen all the way up designer ranks, and since 2011 he has been the Head of the Bureau. He has made a considerable contribution into designing, construction and operation of deep-sea technology, several times participated in the trials including diving to the maximum depth. Vladimir Dorofeev managed development of Yasen-M, the fourth-generation attack nuclear submarine armed with cruise missiles.
Vladimir Dorofeev was decorated with Order of Courage, Order of Naval Merit and Order for Merit to the Fatherland of the IV Degree. He is a member of the Board of Shipbuilding under the Government of the Russian Federation, member of Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences on the Integrated Problem of Hydrophysics. He is the Head of the State Attestation Commission of Saint Petersburg State Marine Technical University.
