The completing submarine of the Pacific Fleet series was launched

Yakutsk, Project 636 submarine for the Russian Navy designed by Rubin Design Bureau and constructed at the Admiralty Shipyards has been launched today.

"Today is a very remarkable day - we are launching the sixth large submarine of Project 636 for the Pacific Fleet completing the construction of the series as per the plans. The Varshavyanka submarines are equipped with high-precision weapons capable to perform any missions at all regions of the World Ocean. They proved their high seaworthiness and combat characteristics by thousands of covered miles, multiple combat duties and accomplished missions" - said Vice Admiral Igor Mukhamedshin, the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy for Weapons. He expressed gratitude to designers of Rubin Design Bureau and shipbuilders of the Admiralty Shipyards for their "contribution into strengthening of the defence capability of the country".

Yakutsk is the thirty-second submarine of Project 636. All submarines of this project were delivered as per the contract schedule. The construction cycle of a Project 636 submarine has been technically and organizationally perfected and, therefore, ends within three years only.

In his turn, Mr. Vladimir Korolev, the Advisor to General Director of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, highlighted that Yakutsk was completing yet another series of submarines of this project. "Project 636 submarines have shown themselves exceptionally well during events in Syria and in the course of the special military operation. All characteristics envisaged for this ship by the Designer as well as their high combat potential were proved", - Mr. Korolev stated. The Advisor to General Director of USC thanked designers "for the successful design and technical supports to series".
