The United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) presents Amur 1650 submarine with Vertical Launching System (VLS) and Air Independent Propulsion (AIP) at the International Maritime Defence Show "Fleet 2026". Rubin Design Bureau, a USC affiliate, has developed the project.

The Project has one of the largest quantity of ammunition among conventional submarines in the world: up to 28 units. Amur 1650 with VLS can be fitted up with Club-S cruise missiles or Russian-Indian supersonic missiles BrahMos.

The Project features high adaptability. The onboard equipment can be customized. The extensive missile arsenal can strike both land and surface targets.

VLS enlarges combat capabilities of the Project. Thus, the conventional submarine becomes a multipurpose center of underwater operations.

High stealth defines Amur 1650 with VLS. A wide range of acoustic protection means, hull design and equipment with reduced noise contribute to the submarine's low signature. These features plus the advanced electronic systems of submarine combat system make Amur 1650 indispensable for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR). The sonar provides long-range target detection. Sea trials of Project 677 lead unit and follow-ons already nicknamed Sea Ghosts have proved the effectiveness of these technical solutions.

Amur 1650 with VLS and AIP performs 60 days in blue waters or brown waters even with ASW counteraction. The submarine's displacement is about 3000 tons. Complement: 42.
